Job Summary:
The Nerd On The Street Interviewer is responsible for creating entertaining and thought-provoking video content from Sexy Nerds events. Working independently or as part of a one- or two-person production team, the interviewer captures attendee reactions, cosplay showcases, discussions, and community stories while helping document the unique culture and energy of Sexy Nerds events.
This role combines event hosting, interviewing, and social media production. The ideal candidate is comfortable approaching strangers, improvising, and capable of producing high-quality content suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms.
The goal of the Nerd On The Street Interviewer is to help tell the story of Sexy Nerds through authentic conversations with attendees, creators, cosplayers, performers, and members of the nerd community.

Key Responsibilities:
Interview & Content Creation
Conduct engaging person-on-the-street interviews with attendees, cosplayers, and other community members to create entertaining shareable content.
Collaborate with the Sexy Nerds team to develop interactive, humorous, and audience-focused segments that drive engagement.
Interview Topics & Programming
Prepare and facilitate engaging conversations on nerd culture (hot takes, trends, reviews, cosplayer spotlights, attendee experiences) and thought-provoking discussion topics.
Production Quality
Produce high-quality event content with strong video, lighting, and audio, coordinating with staff to identify optimal recording locations and managing nightlife venue challenges such as music and crowd noise.
Video Production
Capture content suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts.
Editing & Content Delivery
Organize, edit, and deliver engaging short-form and medium-form video content, including captions, graphics, and social-ready edits to meet deadlines.
Event Participation
Collaborate with Managers to feature cosplayers, creators, and attendees, while capturing key event moments and activities through engaging content.
Key Qualifications:
Familiarity with Sexy Nerds anime, gaming, cosplay, conventions, internet culture, and nerd communities.
Experience conducting interviews, hosting, journalism, content creation, podcasting, or social media production.
Comfortable speaking with strangers and facilitating conversations.
Ability to think quickly and ask engaging follow-up questions.
Familiarity with social media content trends and audience engagement.
Familiarity with video editing software such as Premiere Pro, CapCut, etc.
Understanding of basic lighting, framing, and audio capture principles.
Experience working in nightlife, live events, conventions, festivals, or entertainment environments.
Compensation:
Compensation varies based on experience, responsibilities, equipment ownership, editing responsibilities, and content production expectations.
Working Conditions:
This role takes place primarily at Sexy Nerds produced events and wider conventions.
Candidates should be comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy environments with large crowds, loud music, and frequent attendee interaction.
Weekend availability is typically required.
